Why Do I need to upgrade? My boiler still works!
New boilers that are fitted in England and Wales as of April 2005 had to be of a condensing type.
What is a condensing boiler?
This is an ‘A’ rated high efficiency boiler. Put simply a gas appliance that has the ability to re-use, what would normally be wasted heat into the atmosphere, hence reducing CO2 emissions.
What are the benefits of a condensing boiler?
It will substantially reduce your energy bills and save you around 32% and by fitting the right heating controls you could save up to 40%.

Will my central heating work better?
New high-efficiency condensing boilers are much smaller and more powerful. Advanced heating controls are a perfect compliment to a condensing boiler. |
Will I have to change my radiators?
No. As part of every installation that is carried out the radiators are flushed through with a cleanser and treated with an anti-corrosive inhibitor. Part ‘L’ of the Building regulations require the standard lockshield valves to be replaced with thermostatically controlled valves, again this is done in a effort to save energy.
Will I be helping the environment?
Most certainly, by installing a condensing boiler you are reducing your carbon footprint substantially.

Is there any Government funding to help me?
Yes. Warm Front is a Government funded initiative to help improve the energy efficiency of your home. People can qualify up to £2700 who are on certain qualifying benefits and who own their own home or rent it from a private landlord can access the grant.
